Pentek Jade 3U VPX Analog I/O with Ultrascale FPGA
Pentek's Ultrascale FPGA based family of 3U VPX boards (for data acquisition, software radio and digital signal processing), offers flexible
backplane fabric connections supporting maximum data rates of up to 8 GB/sec with Generation 3 PCI Express. The 3U VPX form factor is
compact and extremely well suited for avionics, including UAVs, shipboard and airborne radar and signal intelligence applications.
Each of the 3U VPX modules features a Generation 3 PCI Express interface (PCI Express 3.0). The PCI Express interface includes a bridge
that provides PCIe lane-width negotiation for x1, x4 or x8 data transfers over the VPX backplane.
Models 53XXX feature a crossbar switch
which allows for flexible assignment of the PCIe interface lanes to backplane connector pins. The crossbar supports gigabit serial
protocols for moving data independently of any particular protocol (e.g. Xilinx Aurora or Serial Rapid I/O). It can also handle multiple
data streams simultaneously and allows each module to act as a VPX switch managing serial fabric connections to and from other modules
across the backplane.
Models 52XXX do not have the crossbar switch fitted.

Navigator Design Suite
Pentek’s Navigator Design Suite includes the Navigator FDK (FPGA Design Kit) for integrating custom IP into the Pentek factory-shipped
design and the Navigator BSP (Board Support Package) for creating host applications. The Navigator Design Suite was designed from the
ground up to work with Pentek’s Jade architecture and provide a better solution to the complex task of IP and software creation.
Navigator FDK (FPGA Design Kit)
Pentek's Navigator FDK provides the complete IP for a specific Jade data acquisition and processing board and fully integrates with
Xilinx's Vivado Design Suite. When the Pentek FDK is opened in Vivado’s IP Integrator, the developer can access every component of the Pentek design,
replacing or modifying blocks as needed for the application.
Navigator BSP (Board Support Package)
The companion product to the Navigator FDK is the Pentek Navigator Board Support Package (BSP), this enables complete operational control of
the hardware and all IP functions in the FPGA. Similar to the FDK, the BSP allows software developers to work at a higher level, abstracting
many of the details of the hardware through an intuitive API. Developers who want full access to the entire BSP library, enjoy complete
C-language source code as well as full documentation. New applications can be developed on their own or by building on one of the included
example programs. All Jade boards are shipped with a full suite of built-in functions allowing operation without the need for any custom IP development.
